Current shelter-in-place orders make it more important than ever to ensure that those with limited financial resources are living in a home where they feel safe and secure and have access to hot water and heat and aren’t at risk of falling or fires in their home.
How we are helping
During this pandemic, we are committed to helping our most vulnerable neighbors, low income families and neighbors living with disabilities, in the following ways.
- Checking in on our vulnerable neighbors with weekly wellness checks. We believe that social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation – we are committed to staying connected to vulnerable SF residents during this crisis.
- Creating an Rebuilder Task Force of skilled volunteers to address critical home needs such as access to heat and hot water.
- Connecting Neighbors with resources such as home care, medical support, and food delivery. In collaboration with the SF Department of Health, Department of Aging and Disabled Services, and community partner Together SF, we are ensuring that neighbors get access to vital resources.
Ensuring safety is a priority
Many of the people we help are at high risk to this pandemic. Therefore, only those necessary to complete emergency repairs will enter our neighbor’s home. With your help, we’ll be able to deploy our Rebuilder Task Force ambassadors to address some of the most urgent requests.

FRONT-LINE DISASTER SPONSOR LEVELS
RECOVERY – $5,000
Requests from our neighbors in need of our services are expected to double in the coming months, and they will need our support to get back on their feet.
RESPONSE – $2,500
Support us to dispatch our Emergency Task Force to address the immediate safety repair needs of our neighbors.
PARTNERSHIP – $1,000
Support our weekly virtual wellness calls that check in on our neighbors and ensure that isolated neighbors are connected to resources as they shelter-in-place.
